The Lost Tapes are optional collectibles that are scattered throughout Lost in Vivo, and can be accessed by using any of the cassette players found outside of save rooms or main menu in the case of the Mersus Tapes. There are a total 9 tapes in the game, with only 3 unobtainable by the player.

The Lost tapes are not canonical to the main story, and each tells their own small tale of horror.

Lost Tape 1 (The Pound) - "An old tape I found at home. If I find a tape player I should listen to it. The pound is written on it."

Lost Tape 1 takes place in the pound where The Protagonist gets their dog Dani from. It is the only canonical tape in the game.

Lost Tape 2 (The Clinic) - "It smells like chemicals. The Clinic is written on it."

Lost Tape 2 takes place in a dingy, dirty, and metallic clinic filled with similarly disgusting hospital beds.

Lost Tape 3 (The Cabin) - "The plastic casing feels loose like someone took it apart several times. The Cabin is written on it."

Lost Tape 3 takes place in a large, dense forest. This is the first appearance of Bayagototh and also includes an easter egg to Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, seeing Specimen 8 through a window.

Lost Tape 4 (Hotel) - "It smells awful and the plastic is covered in a thin sticky substance. The word Hotel has been stuck to it with a stiff red tape."

Lost Tape 4 takes place in a hotel, where the player needs to sleep somewhere. This is the only tape or part of Lost in Vivo where you can see your reflection. Similarly to Lost Tape 3 (The Cabin), there is a Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion reference - in the form of the Kalamari Hospital Chair.

Lost Tape 5 (The Wolf) - "Howls and screams echo through the twisted old branches of the overgrown campground. A history of unresolved violence keeps many away from this place, but regardless you find yourself trapped here. Something sinister is stalking through the woods, and you seek to escape."

Lost Tape 5 takes place in a dense forest and camp site while being stalked by a wolf - then ultimately taking a turn to make an offering to Bayagototh. This reuses the cabin featured in Lost Tape 3 (The Cabin).

Lost Tape 6 (The Way Out) - "You don't count the days any more. The light that you occasionally see from the window.. the breeze you can sometimes feel... those are gone. You've been offered a way out... Will you take it?"
